Weekend Trading
Monitoring trades placed when markets are closed
Weekend Trading
The Weekend Trading tab flags trades that were placed or held when markets are closed — typically Friday evening through Sunday evening.
When This Matters
This tab is relevant if your plans:
- Prohibit holding positions over the weekend
- Have "Flat Friday" rules (auto-close positions)
- Restrict weekend trading activity
If weekend trading is allowed on all your plans, you can largely ignore this tab.
What It Detects
The system flags:
- Trades opened during market closure
- Trades held open over the weekend
- Activity during Saturday/Sunday
Why Restrict Weekend Trading?
Reviewing Flags
Each flag shows:
- Account — which account is flagged
- Trade — the trade details
- Timing — when it was opened/closed
- Duration — how long it was held
What to Look For
Intentional violation:
- Trader explicitly holding over weekend despite rules
- Pattern of repeated weekend holding
- Positions opened Friday, held through weekend
Accidental/Borderline:
- Forgot to close before weekend
- Didn't realise market was closing
- Time zone confusion
Taking Action
If Your Plans Block Weekend Trading
For clear violations:
- Check if the plan has weekend trading restrictions
- If yes and they violated it, soft breach rules should apply automatically
- If not auto-triggered, Manual Events → Rule Violation
If It's a Warning Only
If weekend trading is flagged but not prohibited:
- Note it in their account
- Consider mentioning in review notes
- No direct action needed
Flat Friday
Some plans have Flat Friday enabled — the system automatically closes all positions before the weekend.
If Flat Friday is on but trades still appear in Weekend Trading:
- Could be a timing issue (closed after the flag window)
- Could be a configuration issue
- Worth investigating if it happens repeatedly

False Positives
Some legitimate scenarios:
| Situation | Explanation |
|---|---|
| Crypto pairs | Some crypto trades 24/7 |
| Different broker hours | Broker might have different weekend definition |
| Time zone edge cases | Friday 5pm in one zone is Saturday elsewhere |
Check the specific instrument and broker before acting.
Configuration
Weekend trading rules are configured per-plan in the Plan Editor (Step 4: Rules).
Options typically include:
- Allow/Block weekend trading
- Flat Friday (auto-close)
- Flag only vs. breach
If you're seeing too many flags for legitimate activity, review your plan configurations.
